The Lion King is good, but takes a hit in the emotional department

Director Jon Favreau was at the helm for The Jungle Book, which kind-of set off this recent wave of modern-day Disney adaptations. It was only right that Disney brought back Favreau for arguably their biggest property, The Lion King.

I found this film great with its visual effects, singing and I loved the musical numbers!

But there’s a big drawback: Most of the emotional scenes are lessened because of the photorealism.
