The Last Black Man in San Francisco is a gem in 2019

I haven’t seen a film this year that’s produced such emotion for me like I have with The Last Black Man in San Francisco. There’s something very special about the way actor Jimmie Fails plays, well, himself in his early adult years. Actor Jonathan Majors ought to be up for an Oscar for his portrayal of Montgomery, Jimmie’s best friend. And then there’s the imagery. The beautiful, breathtaking imagery.

I can’t say enough good things about A24’s latest, and it’s a must-watch for everyone, starting with the direction.
