Ant-Man and the Wasp fails to deliver, just another typical superhero film

If you were to tell me the follow-up to the quite enjoyable Ant-Man would leave me shrugging my shoulders and being less-than-enthusiastic —

well, you’d be correct.

Director Peyton Reed returns for this sequel, but it is without a very important cog in the machine: director/writer Edgar Wright, who was fired over creative differences for the first film. However, Marvel Studios still used the majority of his script and credited Wright. And the film was actually decent!

This one — not so much. The writing is messy, jokes are misplaced, actors misused and, boy, that ending.

Ant-Man and the Wasp is rated PG-13, runs 2 hours and 5 minutes and flies into theaters July 6, 2018.
