The latest entry into the Star Wars universe, Solo: A Star Wars Story, has reached over $14 million and broke a record during its Thursday previews.
According to Box Office Mojo, Solo brought in $14.1 million and surpassed the previous Memorial Day Weekend record set by Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End ($13.2 million). Overseas, Box Office Mojo reports that Solo made $11.4 million over two days after being released in 43 markets, so far.
While I enjoyed Solo, I believe the film will ultimately under-perform based on Star Wars standards. But I also thought I’d dislike Ron Howard’s take on the Star Wars universe, so there’s that.
Solo: A Star Wars Story is in theaters now.
