Report: Donald Glover in talks to be in Black Panther sequel

This is Donald Glover’s year and we’re just witnessing success ooze from he touches. On Wednesday, Complex cited a Metro report that has Glover linked to director Ryan Coogler‘s Black Panther sequel.

Glover, known also as his hip-hop alias Childish Gambino, has been on a tear recently. With his music video for “This is America” that made waves online, and his portrayal of Star Wars legend Lando Calrissian in Solo: A Star Wars Story, the talented actor/writer/artist seemingly cannot do any wrong.

A source told Metro that Coogler is exploring new characters and is in “informal talks” with Glover. After Black Panther‘s global success, I’d imagine Marvel Studios and Disney want to bring aboard such as Glover.

“One of those characters, if he gets his wish, will be played by Childish Gambino. Nothing is set in stone but ‘informal talks’ [are happening] between Ryan, Gambino and reps from Marvel and Disney to see if they can make it happen,” the Metro reported.

Whether this happens or not, I’m glad Coogler is already hard at work for the untitled Black Panther sequel, which has yet to receive even a release window.
