Report: Rick and Morty renewed for 70 episodes

MORTY! WE’RE GETTING RENEWED, MORTY!

Fans of the popular TV series Rick and Morty may be heading into the weekend with smiles: Deadline reports that Adult Swim has ordered 70 new episodes.

Rick and Morty has been without any new episodes since its third season ended last October. This renewal more than doubles the first three seasons’ total episodes (31), which means the show’s creators, Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland, will surely have their work cut out for them.

Harmon also released an Instagram video following the announcement.

Nothing this big has ever been seen in my shower

Deadline added that, in celebration of the renewal, the Rickmobile will go on a country-wide tour beginning on May 17 in Atlanta.

No date has been set for the season four premiere.
