Pacific Rim: Uprising is nothing like its predecessor, results in a generic mess

Pacific Rim: Uprising is the sequel to directorGuillermo del Toro’s Pacific Rim, a very fun robots-versus-monsters film that I appreciated even more the second time. Fast-forward five years: del Toro’s out of the director’s chair and substituted with director Steven S. DeKnight, who’s best known for…one episode of Daredevil and writing Spartacus stuff.
