Well, how did I do? Oscars 2018 winners and losers

The Oscars were pretty predictable this year. I have an issue with Lady Bird — my favorite film of 2017 — taking home zero awards. Zero! How can the Academy justify that? But I digress…

There were some winners that made me go “hm,” but too often throughout the nearly-four hour show I found myself disengaged. Not many speeches stood out and, please, Jimmy Kimmel: stop trying to “surprise” audiences like you did with the moviegoers segment. It’s just fodder to fill time, it seems.

Below are how my predictions lined up with the actual winners. Let’s see how I did:

NOTES: I went 14 and 8… Incredibly peeved that Lady Bird didn’t win a single award… Surprisingly, Baby Driver didn’t win either sound category… Kobe Bryant has an Oscar… While I predicted Apes to win Best Visual Effects, I’m glad Blade Runner 2049 snagged the award… This was a predictable Oscars ceremony, eh?… The Shape of Water took home four awards, second place goes to Dunkirk with three…
