Solo: A Star Wars Story teaser trailer drops day after Super Bowl 52

We’ve heard the horror stories of Solo: A Star Wars Story‘s production, re-shoots and director changes, but fans were finally given their first look at the film during Sunday night’s Super Bowl.

While it was a short TV spot, Bradford Young‘s cinematography stood out and I became intrigued in what I think is an unnecessary film.

Fast-forward to Monday morning and a teaser trailer dropped showing a bit more of a film that’s been a bit in the dark.  See it below:

While the cinematography still looks great, the generic dialogue really bled through this teaser. I really shook my head when Tobias Beckett (Woody Harrelson) said, “I’m putting together a crew.” I’m surprised a film with writer Lawrence Kasdan already feels so… bare.

But there’s actor Donald Glover as Lando, and I’m all in for that performance.

Solo: A Star Wars Story is directed by Ron Howard hits theaters on May 25, 2018.
