Game of Thrones Season 8 won’t arrive until 2019, Sophie Turner says

Try telling Game of Thrones fans that patience is a virtue. Actress Sophie Turner, who plays Sansa Stark in one of the best shows on television, revealed in a recent interview that fans will have to wait a bit longer for the eighth season.

In a Variety interview, Turner was asked if she’s excited for next year.

“Yeah, I’m really excited. ‘Game of Thrones’ comes out in 2019. ‘Dark Phoenix’ is in November. Then I have a couple indie movies coming out. I’m a producer on my next movie [‘Girl Who Fell From the Sky’]. So I’m really excited about the future.”

There was an expectation that Game of Thrones‘ final season wouldn’t debut until 2019, but many were hopeful for a late-2018 release window.

Unfortunately, 2018 will be void of dragons. But, hey, that gives anyone not caught up with the series more than enough time to play catch-up.
