I never thought I’d write this sentence, but director Michael Bay will be producing a Dora the Explorer film.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, this live-action adaptation of the Nickelodeon show will be produced by Bay and his Platinum Dunes partners, Andrew Form and Brad Fuller. This is a project that has been stuck in the mud since 2015, but has since found new life with Paramount.
The film is said to center around Dora as a teen who moves into the big city with Diego, her cousin.
All of this is so interesting because Bay is well-known for his explosions and Transformers, so will we see Dora chillin’ with Optimus Prime?
One can hope.
A release date has yet to be scheduled, but THR reports the studio is eyeing a 2019 window.
