Yeah, I’m about as surprised as you are. David Letterman, the 35-year talk show veteran who has been off the air since 2015, is expected to return via Netflix.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Letterman and Netflix have a six-episode deal in place for a currently untitled series. I doubt he’s rusty, as he has plenty of years of experience under his belt.
Each hour-long episode will be pre-recorded and full of conversations with guests, surrounding topics outside of the studio.
“I feel excited and lucky to be working on this project for Netflix,” Letterman said to THR. “Here’s what I have learned, if you retire to spend more time with your family, check with your family first. Thanks for watching, drive safely.”
The series is reportedly produced by RadicalMedia.
The premiere date? Well, all we got is a year: 2018.
Binge-watching Letterman in 2018. Man, life comes at ya fast.
