Yes, it’s 2017 and, yes, I’m writing about The Incredibles 2. I still am in disbelief that Pixar is expected to deliver a sequel to one of my favorite animated films, but here we are with a 2018 release date.
However, the timetable hasn’t advance too much further past the events of The Incredibles — actually, we’re picking up right where we left off with our family full of heroes.
According to IGN, Pixar’s Chief Creative Officer John Lasseter confirmed during a D23 Expo interview that The Incredibles 2 will take place like no time has passed at all.
“It starts right as the first one finishes, so it just carries on. It starts with the Underminer and a big old set piece. You know that at the end of the first movie when he comes up and you see the family dressed as superheroes, well that’s where start this movie.”
Director Brad Bird is back for the sequel, which is expected to hit theaters on June 15, 2018.
