EDIT: It’s The Mirror, y’all. So a grain of salt should be taken with this.
Well, well, well — would you look at what we have here? Actor Daniel Craig, arguably one of the best James Bonds and a favorite of mine since Casino Royale, is reportedly ready to pony up for Bond 25.
According to The Mirror, a source said Bond producer Barbara Broccoli told them Craig is back as Bond, and Adele — if you don’t know Adele, here — is tipped to sing the untitled 25th Bond film’s theme. This report comes as a huge surprise, since Craig is on record saying he’d rather “slash his wrists” than play Bond again.
Spectre was less-than-stellar and teetered on the “mediocre” spectrum, but there’s no doubt in my mind that Craig can bring back that flair of old. However, he is getting older and if he really felt passionately about not returning. That’s not the most encouraging sign of good things to come.Adele returning is good for everyone, as well. “Skyfall” is one of the best Bond themes to-date, and it’ll be a refreshing return to form after Sam Smith’s horrible “Writing’s on the Wall.”
The 25th Bond film has yet to be given a release date.
