Rodriguez threatens to leave Fast and Furious if women aren’t given more focus

Michelle Rodriguez expressed her frustration on Instagram regarding the role of women in theΒ Fast and Furious saga, threatening to leave the series for good.

According to Variety, Rodriguez vented about the lack of love shown to women in the F&F films.

Rodriguez’s character in the series, Letty Ortiz, began getting a larger focus from the fourth Fast and Furious film and beyond, but one can only think she’s speaking up mainly due to the other women getting less exposure.

The last line in her Instagram post is very telling: “It’s been a good ride & Im grateful for the opportunity the fans & studio have provided over the years… One Love.”

Either she’s putting pressure on the studio, or Rodriguez is genuinely ready to call it quits. After all, Fate of the Furious was the first film in a while that began to have that “maybe we should end the series” feeling. Also, there’s no telling whether Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will return for future films, but with all his other work, it’s safe to say he’s thinking beyond the F&F franchise.
