New poster for Jackie Chan’s next film The Foreigner

It’s been a while since actor and martial artist Jackie Chan‘s starred in a good role. At this stage of the 63-year-old’s life, he’s probably done vying for a heavy workload. But his next film, The Foreigner, teases a revenge plot where Chan plays a father out to save his family.

Here’s the official IMDB description, which is very basic on the surface:

The IRA took his family. The police looked the other way. Now he must get revenge.

However, I scrolled down a bit and recognized director Martin Campbell‘s behind this project. Campbell directed Casino Royale, and that’s the best Daniel Craig Bond film, in my eyes.

There’s hope for this film, especially with a chance to make noise during October. It won’t go without competition, however, with Blade Runner 2049 releasing a weekend prior (Oct. 6).

The Foreigner also stars actor Pierce Bronson and releases in North America on Oct. 13, 2017.
